Contraindications
In Peruvian shamanic healing and shamanic womb healing, as with any form of holistic or alternative therapy, there may be contraindications or situations where caution is advised. Here are some general considerations:
Psychological Conditions: Individuals with severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, psychosis, or severe personality disorders may not be suitable candidates for shamanic healing, as the process can be intense and may exacerbate symptoms.
Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions may require careful consideration. For example, individuals carrying a pacemaker, or with cardiovascular issues, epilepsy, or other serious medical conditions should consult with a healthcare professional before participating in shamanic healing, especially if the process involves physical exertion or intense emotional experiences.
Pregnancy: While shamanic womb healing may be beneficial for some pregnant individuals, some practices or rituals may not be suitable during pregnancy, and safety considerations are paramount.
Trauma History: Individuals with a history of significant trauma, particularly unresolved trauma, should approach shamanic healing with caution. The intense nature of some shamanic practices may potentially trigger or retraumatize individuals who are not adequately prepared or supported.
Substance Use: Individuals under the influence of drugs or alcohol may not be able to fully engage in the healing process and may not benefit from shamanic healing practices. I typically recommend to avoid substance use before and during healing sessions.
Spiritual Vulnerability: Some individuals may be particularly sensitive to energetic or spiritual influences, and shamanic healing practices may potentially exacerbate feelings of vulnerability or discomfort. I do hold a safe and supportive space.
